Stephen Roth’s varied interests have taken his imagination far afield. A review of his work shows his remarkable range.
Many of Stephen’s works are available as giclee prints or mono prints.
A giclee (pronounced gee-clay) uses high resolution digital scans of the original artwork. Then a very fine spray of archival inks are sprayed onto a sheet of high quality watercolor paper to produce a remarkably accurate reproduction.
Monoprints are unique much like oil paintings.
The first printing is truly a monoprint but the second, third and sometimes forth prints are called “ghosts”. Each “pressing” done by hand leaves a little less paint. They are created by painting the scene on a thin piece of plastic and then printing this on canvas paper.
